I love the idea of spinning! I think I would really enjoy it if I could just wrap my mind around giving up the real estate in my house. Between yarn and knitting books, is there room in my life for roving and a wheel? I have a feeling my husband would tell me NO! Someday I hope to acquire a wheel and I love this cute wheel! It ships for FREE!

Comment by Lauren Kowalczewski on August 21, 2011 at 8:28pm I live on a fixed income and wanted a wheel. I found a slightly used one on one of the sale sites...either KnitSwap or Sockyarnsales. A Kromski Sonata...and the gal let me make payments! It's beautiful and I love it. A couple months ago, I saw an ad in our local paper....Ashford Traditional, used, $100. I called and set up an appt. and went to see it. It was not used in quite a while, about 30-40 years old, had everything on it but nothing with it but the bobbin on the flyer. I asked if she'd take $75 and when she said "Yes", I thought I'd faint!!
So I know own 2 spinning wheels and love the Ashford!! Just check around, spinning is definitelly worth the time and effort. But a Schact is quite pricey. I would look for a used wheel first.
