nan ziegler replied to trixie dubose's discussion 'The ugliest thing I made was....(Crochet or Knit)'

google the name and you should be able to find a pattern. Or go to the Bernat website (probably www.bernat.com) and see if they have patterns. nan

Look at Lion Brand Yarn, they have LOTS of free patterns, there should be something that strikes your fancy.. Or, you can choose a yarn, google it, and choose a pattern specific to that yarn!!! There is a lot out there. nan

I love anything by Life's an Expedition by dj runnels, who's yarn is on artfire. It is separate yarns and threads put together in some of the most beautiful combinations. I can take a simple, plain prayer shawl pattern, use one of her yarn…

I'm finishing the 2nd baby blanket - just finish the fringe. I really enjoy making the blankets circular - it's different - & it's easy to wrap up!

Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
I'm a middle aged RN, who is now disabled. After having to file for disability, the need to give remained in my heart. I now knit and crochet prayer blankets for my church. I adore looking through books and making up my own patterns
Favorite Yarn:
I love alpaca and agora mix. Really I like using any natural fiber. I've become a yarn snob, not buying any non-natural fiber. I recently donated four leaf bags full of acrylic yarn to the lupus foundation, and last year, donated 70 full skeins of yarn and 22 crochet hooks to our local assisted living facility. The Occupational Therapist was so excited to get the donation as many women wanted to do something like that.
Favorite Knitting Project:
My favourite knitting project is the one I'm working on at the present!

New to site but not to knitting or crocheting.

Hello all! I'm in my later 50's (really??) and have been married for 27 years to the best guy in the world. I'm disabled and no longer able to work as a registered nurse, which I did for 35 years. I'm pretty much confined to home and crochet and knit prayer shawls and lapghans for my church. I'm a one person pray shawl ministry! I'm thinking of starting a group prayer shawl ministry at my church.

I taught myself how to crochet the summer I was 12 and babysitting a lot. That is my main… Continue

I usually use circs for hats. I also make a lot of socks and use dpn's for that. I've tried a couple times to make 2 socks at the same time with circs. Can't quite get the hang of it. I made my daughter a shawl a couple yrs ago with a very fine lace wt. Wow. turned out beautiful but took me awhile.
Do you have a facebook page? Friend me if you do. So glad to meet you.

Hi, Nan! Welcome to KnitIdeas.com. I am so glad that you joined our community. This is a great place to share ideas and post projects. I can't wait to see some of yours!
I love that you knit for charity. It is really at the heart of what knitters/crocheters are. We give our time for those we love and sometimes those we don't even know.
