:( so sorry that the heat didn't seam to stay retained in your joints to help a lot. Tell your hubby or someone to take off the wax for you - and put on the gloves while the heat is still in. But then again - it's already showed…
Have you or any one else thought of using the Paraffin Wax (bath) for your hands? It helps coat your hands with heat (at the temperature you can tolerate). It really soften up the skin as well if used during the dry season. Have seen them…
Hi Susan!! If you go to www.youtube.com and do a search for crochet - you'll find some people's video on how to do some certain patterns. Maybe they would help trigger your memory and your fingers will pick up from where you…
Thanks for the compliment - and I'm sorry to learn that your family member is undergoing something like this. I'm thinking about making another one some day - but modify the pink layout so it'll light more like a ribbon. God be with…
Ok, so its been 6 months since my last comment. My grandmother beat the disease and is now cancer free. But a few weeks ago I learned that my aunt also has cancer. Yesterday she underwent a double partial mastectomy. She is recovering at home…
Don't remember the last time I've used that. I know working with the Bernat Baby Coordinates - the one with what looks like shimmery thread along with the yarn is HECK with knitting needles.
No, nothing has come through yet in the e-mail. :) You can post it on your own account right here so every one can see the lovely work you have done. Likewise - any one could see any photos I have placed under my account too.
Oh you need to post a picture of that shawl. I'll have to see what that stitch is - Tunisian Lace. So happy that it turned out great. As for the other projects, don't give up. :)
I'm here - not sure about the others. :) Trying to finish up this soft yellow knitted baby blanket so I could get a head start on two more baby blankets (crochet) WHILE finishing up the red/purple star quilt. So many projects and so…
Did you ever had any problem washing/drying the Caron yarn projects? One time I made TWO sweaters using Caron yarn. I washed them and dried them - which I tend to do with all of my projects to make sure they won't fall apart before I turn them…
Been crocheting since the age of 10 and knitting since I was married. Happily married to a great guy for almost 32 years. Have one son and one grandson. I'm also deaf which, of course, doesn't effect my love for craft. :)

The reason the military requires 100% wool is because of the fact that fire is often connected to the troupes. If acrilic was used it tends to melt. Can you imagine what that would do to a burn injury ! Cotton trends to burn fast. Therefor they said wool. I don't know what other reason they might have for wool. AND they do have very horrific winters in the mountains of Affganistan (sp).So these liners are much in demand. In fact one of our goup ( that makes the liners) has a family member that was a recipiant of one of the liners. He said everybody in his tent was crying for one! So we got a bunch together and send them direct to his group! They were very thankful. Of course we included other supplies that they needed. Insect repelent, spices for their food. combs, sunscreen, etc.

I would be happy to share the link for making helment liners for the troops with the group. It will take me a while to dig it out but in a few days I should have it and will post it for all to see.I hope everyone will consider doing this wonderful act for our wonderful guys and gals who are making huge hardships just to make the world a better place. Weather you do or don't believe in the war, we all need to support our troops!

Yes, the helment liners are for the troops that are overseas. The Army insist that they be done in 100% wool, so I don't work on them much in the summer. I live in Texas andd 100 temps it is difficult to work on the wool yarn! The liners look like ski masks. They can be either knit or crochett. Here in my little towm there are 5 of us doing this. When we get about 50 done we send them to a place in Dalles that gets them to the troops. It is deffinatly a "feel good" labor of love.

Hi Teri-Lyn.
I was just looking through your pix . Lots of work there ! One comment: I hope you made a special blanket for you little models. Both dogs did such a good job modeling they deserve one !
I will be reading all the post on our special crocheting group. I don't get a chance to do much finger work latley but I am making helment liners for the troops. Most of my time is spent making jewelry but i do some finger work in the winter.
I realize I haven't had a chance to formally welcome you! Welcome to KnitIdeas.com, Teri-Lyn. I am so glad that you joined our community. This is a great place to share ideas and post projects. I can't wait to see some more of yours! The ones you have posted so far look great!
Thanks for letting me know about this. Usually I stay with the Red Hearts yarn as I know so many people would like to wash/dry any of the blankets I give them. This is especially true for new moms as they don't have the time nor possibly space to lay things flat and shape it.
Whew - finally found the comment you left me (still learning how to use this web site's features). The Rainbow Baby Blanket is really simple to use. It's all Ripple (single, half, double crochet and Triple) but most of them are in double crochet. The corners are made of granny square. I do have the book - somewhere. LOL
Hi Teri, Thanks for the quick response. I know 8 people who are having babies next year and all want a homemade gift. I was refering to the picture of the Rainbow Baby Blanket. You have one picture with pastels and one with bright. Your work is beautiful.
