For those who want to know the pattern - please read down the comment trail. As to the amount of yarn - my yarns provided about 1,000 yds each. I really didn't keep very good track of the amount I used. The pattern is the RUFFLED EDGE WRAP…

- Learned to knit in the 70's and put the books and projects and yarn purchased away for years. Picked up the needles in the past 8 years and realized how much I missed doing this creative activity. Now I need to relearn spinning (have 2 wool wheels) and make yarn from the roving and fleece I have stashed away. Married for 40+ years to the same terrific guy. 3 grown children and one wonderful 5 yr old grandson (modeling the blue sweater & hat & cable set). Love to knit when indulgeing TV viewing - probably why I can't do lace knitting.
- Favorite Yarn:
- I have managed to collect a variety of yarn and much was donated my way. Love the soft feel of the bamboo and microfiber yarn.
- Favorite Knitting Project:
- Love doing prayer shawls to give away using unusal or unexpected yarn combinations. I also like the quickness of hats and make them as a donation project trying out unexpected techniques. Working on a Vogue Knititng magazine shawl for my niece's June wedding. (using alpaca, silk and fine Merino wool lace weight yarns).

My Favorite Yarn
Of course my favorite yarn has changed just as my knitting ablity has changed. When I first started, many years ago - only fine merino wool would do. Now the sky is the limit. I love the softness of the new, dare I say, micro tech yarns as well as the wonderful world of bamboo, alpaca, etc. My favorite always seems to be just what I'm working with on the project as I found my weakness is I don't finish the project if I don't like the yarn. Knit on!

Finished the Wedding Shawl
Finished the wedding shawl for my niece for her June wedding in Ft Collins CO. I'm so pleased with the result and she's wearing a scarlet wedding dress (second marraige) - and quite the flair for the dramatic. Probably the reason she's a stage actor! I think that the yarn I use now, trying to do this, is not the one for this and that why it doesn't work out the way is supposed to..
Time will tell if I ever get this done.. :) Not ready to quit with this yet.. Stubborn as I am :D
And I just love the way it looks in the picture.. Perfect to wear at work to protect shoulders from draft whitout forgetting the sexy part... ;)))
