"Teri. The reason the military requires 100% wool is because of the fact that fire is often connected to the troupes. If acrilic was used it tends to melt. Can you imagine what that would do to a burn injury ! Cotton trends to burn fast. Therefor they…"

"Yes, the helment liners are for the troops that are overseas. The Army insist that they be done in 100% wool, so I don't work on them much in the summer. I live in Texas andd 100 temps it is difficult to work on the wool yarn! The liners look…"

Is there a way you could share the link or more info on this Helmet Liner with the rest of us? Maybe we all could do something that in our corner of the world.

Funny you said that - I did make a few for my Chi-Chi Marie. She's always hiding under the blankets. One time (when she was just a pup) we couldn't find her anywhere. Eventually found her climbing out of my knitting bag! lol As for Caper - the current dog we have, she is not interested in it. I think she just wanted to be a part of the event - nothing to do with the blanket. :) They are something else.

Helmet Liners - knitted? Never knew there was such a thing!
