Ouch, that's cold! Actually, I think the Yarn Angel is really a unique shop. Everyone is greeted as soon as they enter, and offered help. You can sit and knit anytime, as well as get help with projects. Most of us even have our own coffee/tea…
WOW! What a great group! And NORO as a gift? They are angels...absolutely :) I wish my LYS was more friendly. The one closest to me has a reputation for being snobs. My sister went in (a non-knitter) to buy me Christmas yarn and asked if there was…
I'm very fortunate to have a super LYS in my town called "The Yarn Angel" located in Queensbury, NY. Jodie, the owner has a great staff and she has a wide assortment of classes every month, as well as private lessons. She is always…
I've always wanted to take project classes at my LYS. I learned there and took a finishing class and a sock but I think having a specific project would be really cool! I would be much more inspired to work on it and probably finish something ON…
So true! Tomorrow I'm back to my favorite LYS to knit and visit with the gang and pick out colors for a felted Fair Isle bag class coming up in a couple weeks. It will take me that long to pick out the six colors of yarn needed for the design…
Thank you, I had a great time on a ladies' day out that included a delicious lunch, shopping, and discovering a new bead/yarn shop that has some very interesting classes. I also had knitting time in the car ;-) Later I had dinner out with…
I have been knitting for about 4 years and like to try anything new. I have at least 6 projects on needles at any given moment that I rotate working on - depending on what room of the house I happen to be in.
Favorite Yarn:
My favorite yarns are usually wools like Jojoland with the beautiful color changes and soft feel. I also like homespun alpaca and self patterning sock yarn. What am I talking about - I just like yarn!

Favorite Knitting Project:
At the moment: the Central Park Hoodie that I'm about to start as soon as the yarn comes in! I've been waiting to knit that for at least 6 months!

WOW! What a great group! And NORO as a gift? They are angels...absolutely :) I wish my LYS was more friendly. The one closest to me has a reputation for being snobs. My sister went in (a non-knitter) to buy me Christmas yarn and asked if there was something that would be considered "NICE" for a gift and was told they ONLY carry nice yarn and then left to herself to find yarn. I was so mad when she told me that. In fact, I had forgotten about it until I was thinking about why I don't LOVE them...Maybe I will write it up as a blog post and see if other people have similar experiences with their LYS. I am envious of yours!
