I have the looms from Michaels and i have also bought the plastic ones on Ebay. those are the original plastic ones and their pick is 200% better than the one with the ohter looms . it's all metal and very strong. you can get them on ebay .

I have this loom, I personally do not like it. Check out www.kiss-looms.com. Or Markman farms or DA looms. I also use the Knifty Knitter looms by Provocraft. . I use my looms almost every day and I love them.

Does anyone know anything about the knitting loom they are selling on HSN?

I guess it's called a knitting board.. there is a video showing how to use it and it looks pretty simple. Just want to know if it might be a good investment!

To do Cable patterns - it's not really that hard. Find a simple pattern to work with till you get the hang of it using the cable hook. Imagine the cable hook as an extra knitting needle. It will hold the number of stitches (off the original holding knitting needle) -- either put the cable hook in front or back as instructed.

1. example - 10 stitches
2. Knit 2
3. transfer 4 to cable hook, hang it in front -
4. knit 2 (that is on the knitting needle in your left hand),
5. Transfer BACK ON the 4 stitches from the cable hook TO the knitting needle in your left hand...

proceed with the instruction. By the way I'm just guessing you might be right handed. There might be some video / picture instruction online that might help you. :)
