Hi Ginny, Thanks - I'll have to post the picture of the twins with the blankets (they were born on August 4th). I used Caron Simply Soft and I believe it was 12 oz (two skeins) of each color per blanket.

love it. Looks crocheted. Do you have a pattern? Yarn type and colors. It looks very easy...

Thanks Cecelia (there's that name again). This is really easy - it's just a big granny square done in double crochet. I got the pattern book about 15 years ago and adapted the pattern for the color combination the mom wanted (the original had a different color for each color change).

The first square (center) is: chain four - join with slip stitch to form a ring.

Round 1: Chain three (counts as first double crochet) two double crochet in ring - chain one - (three double crochet in ring chain one) three times - join with slip stitch.

Round 2: Slip stitch in next dc, ch 3, turn; (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next chain one space * skip next dc, dc in next dc (3dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch 1 space - repeat from * around. Join with slip stitch to first dc.

Round 3: Chain 3, turn; * dc in next dc and in each dc across to next corner ch 1 space, 3 dc in ch 1 space; repeat from * three more times, dc in each dc across - join with slip stitch to first dc

Round 4: Chain 3 turn * dc in next dc and ineach dc across to the next corner dc (2dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in corer dc; repeat from * three more times, dc in each ec across; join with slip stitchto first dc finish off.

Generally speaking - after the first square it is just four rows of each color with the corners either being two double crochet/chain one/two double crochet in the same space - or - three double crochets in the same space (alternating) with the color change having the three double crochets in the same space and the last row of a color having the two double crochet/chain one/two double crochet corners. The front post treble crochet is every twelve stitches (on the twelfth stitch) on the color change row. I ended it with one color change row and then a single crochet all the way around in the final row.

The only other thing you need to know is that you crochet in the back row of the previous row when changing color (this creates a ribbing effect).

Good luck, if you have any questions, let me know.

Very beautiful, do you have the pattern to share? Or where could I find it?
