Thanks, Johann!  I know how hard it is to find the time, etc, etc, so I appreciate your doing this for us.

OK, I'm getting the picture. You want a pattern for this. So, I'm going to do it.

This was a one-off thing that I knitted for my granddaughter for Christmas in 2009. I kind of designed it as I went and didn't keep any of the instructions, although I did make a hand-drawn graph for the cuff which I still have.

So, here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to knit a new one with a variation (a star instead of a heart), and include instructions and graphs for both the star and heart versions. In addition, I'll knit a matching scarf and write instructions for it. Possibly there will be more to the set. I'm thinking about a cowl to make rather than a scarf. So you can choose to make either the cowl or scarf. I made mitts to go with this, but the mitts pattern is already available as a pattern of it's own.

I have some other patterns that are available in printed form, but I plan to make them available in PDF format as well, and this sounds like as good a time as any.

Check my blog at I'll post about this later today and keep you up to date in the future about my progress on the instructions for this hat. I made a simpler version of this hat, which I'll publish as a separate pattern along with a scarf and cowl (choose one). See the blog, because there are a LOT more details about this. I'll keep you up to date on the blog, so you'll be able to see photos of the construction as I go along, and I may consider several designs for the scarf and cowl and ask for opinions, so DO read the blog!

Keep in mind that this may take a while. I have to order the yarn, knit it, write out the instructions, take lots of photos as I go along, proofread, and do page layout for the pattern. I want to do this right, carefully, and (hopefully) mistake-free. Figure that you can probably start on this as a project in late Spring or sometime this Summer and have it done in time for Fall and Christmas presents.

Read the blog, and share your input on the project. Then you can say you helped design it. I may even do a "Thanks To..." section and mention names in the instructions!

Please tell us where we can find this pattern?  As you can see we all love it and would love for you to share it with us if possible...

I really love this hat.  Good job!  :-)  Where did you get the pattern?

The cuff on this isn't a real mobius, only made to look like one. Where the cuff seems to twist, there is a heart knitted in. This was a Christmas present for my granddaughter, whose last name is LaHart.
