Lavender Braid Stitch Hat Front View

I did this on my knitting loom using the braid stitch. I really like how it turned out.

Patricia, I really love the bulky yarns too. They make a really pretty end product. You might search YouTube.com for instructional videos. Have fun!

Sherry, Thanks for the information. I don't have that loom yet, but will be looking for it at a store soon.
I did a little something on the rectangular purple loom for a scarf. Using bulky yarn ; the color is very pretty. I think I need some video instructions. Once I get the instructions down...I will be OK. Instructions are great, but help with a video Can be most helpful.
Thanks. Patricia

Hello, Patricia,

I used the large yellow circle loom for this hat. I didn't have a pattern. I just winged it. :-)

The braid stitch is very simple. With one strand of yarn you go around the loom four times. You lift three of the strands over the peg leaving the top strand. Wrap the yarn around three more times. (You'll have 4 again.) Then repeat. I did that until I had about 10 inches completed. Then I took took a yarn needle with some of the matching yarn and went through each peg. Then I removed it from the loom. I pulled the two ends of that yarn to cinch it. When I tied it off I left a bit of the hat out on the right side to make the rosette. It was pretty simple.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions. I'm happy to help.

Hi Sherry...Well, I bought my first Knifty Knitter loom today, it is a rectangle one. The store only had the single rectangle, a larger collection of rectangles and a small circle loom. I will check a few other stores for circle looms. Would you share the pattern for the purple hat above or can it be found on the Internet?
Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

Thank you, Patricia. I use the Knifty Knitter looms by Provo Craft. I have the circle looms and the rectangle looms. I also have a larger loom called a Serendipity loom. I have various bloom looms and spindle looms too. Can you tell I love looming?

Sherry,
I love this hat and the color is beautiful! Any information on knitting looms would be grateful. I don't think I have ever seen one before (that I know of).
