Hi Nancy...I'd love to share patterns,I have many. I've never created a entire pattern myself but I have changed patterns around with my own ideas. Right now I'm working on one throw,a King size floral afghan & I'm just about to start on of my favorite projects a tree skirt. The pattern I have had for a good twenty years,it's quick and beautiful. I should tell you I've never used a computer before last week so you will have to talk me through sharing patterns. Looking forward to it. Kat
Sure we can share patterns,I always like something new. I can knit things that are small like toys & scarfs,I'm intimidated by it.
Hello, I would love to share patterns! I have many and some of my own patterns. I just finished a small tote bag that is my own pattern. I'll have to put a picture up so everyone can see it. Terri
Hello! I would love to share patterns, too. I have 6 projects I'm working on right now, but I can always use more! I have two patterns of my own that I am working on and would be happy to share.

I love making scarves and hats. I want to try mittens this year.

I don't care for knitting. I find it to be tedious and boring. Crochet is cathartic to me. It's like meditation. I find it clears my mind and calms me. Knitting made me feel frantic and scattered.
Wow, I am kind of new to crocheting, most of the patterns I have I have found online or in books. I know some of you said you have made your own, that sounds really cool. Is it hard? Sorry if I sound like a 2nd grader trying to type, I am kind of a shy person and I am never quite sure what to say. :-)
Hello everyone. I'm Teri-Lyn - certainly LOVE to crochet and have been doing it since I was 10 years old. First project was for the 4-H Club fair. :) Such a LONG time ago that was.

There are LOTS of great patterns online - has anyone checked out www.freepatterns.com ?

I would love to share patterns as well, but do we have the rights to do that without breaking any copyright law?
Would love to share patterns. We just need to be careful not to violate any copyrights. I think that a good rule to follow would be that if the pattern is listed somewhere on the internet, it's ok to share. But we shouldn't scan/copy anything out of a book and post it here.

I've found many great patterns at some free sites. Here are three sites:

Enjoy!
I offer free monthly purse patterns on my blog. http://aundiecrochetqueen.blogspot.com/
II am a mega pattern junkie and just recently started writing and publishing the patterns. I am currently working on more patterns. All the purses are crocheted. I do knit but have not published a knit pattern. I have been crocheting since I was little..
Hello all! My name is Susan. I've been crocheting since I was a kid - don't remember when I learned how to do it! I love to crochet and knit, but I am a novice knitter. I have been thinking about writing a pattern lately because I need a summer cardi for a dress I have that shows WAY too much cleavage. So I'm going to try and write a pattern for a lacy cardi that only buttons over the cleavage. Hopefully one that will be cool enough to wear during the summer.

It's nice to see that people here are writing their own patterns! I think one thing that has always drawn people to knitting has been the smooth finish, intricate knit designs. I don't see why we can't do the same with crochet patterns! :-)
Have you thought about making the cardigan as directed - yep the one that shows way too much cleavage (I don't go for that stuff) -- and create your own little "insert" to put underneath? Make it different colors to coordinate with the color fashion mood you might be in? Just an idea.

Be sure to post some pictures when you are done - with whatever patterns you worked from.
I've thought about crocheting an insert for the dress itself, but I hadn't thought of crocheting inserts for the actual cardi. That's a good idea! Thank you!
You're welcome! :)
