Hey there Marsha!

Socks are NOT hard to do, honestly. Learning anything new is a challenge. If you can knit and purl, you can knit a sock! What makes most people think it's hard is the terms, gusset, heel flap, heel turn, KITCHNER!

It's scary sounding but it really isn't. There are loads of sock knitting tutorials online and also videos on Youtube.

A slipped stitch sock is a sock worked with 2 colors of yarn, but, 1 at a time. You usually knit 1 row of a color and slip the previous color stitch without working it. clear as mud huh? The slipped stitch is then worked when you pick up that color on the next round...

let's see if I can make a mini chart using + for red and = for white:

as you can see, you work from right to left with row 1 being Red, every = you slip a white stitch, even rows are worked as the odd rows so you'll have 2 rows worked in Red, then 2 rows worked in White.

Look at my Pics page and you'll see 2 different slipped stitch socks, Miss Marple and Samarkand. The chart I did up top is the Samarkand chart.

Hi, I'm Loretta, and I'm in San Antonio, Tx. I love knitting socks, and since I learned the Magic Loop method, I dont have any SSS (second sock syndrome) and it is really portable. (My knitting goes everywhere w/me). My husband is a diabetic and the socks from the store get too tight around the top of his calf and leave indentions. My socks fit his foot perfectly and he wears the bright colorways I love to knit with. And the cuff never cuts into his leg. (he know I dont like to knit w/plain dark yarn, at my age it is too hard to see the stitches). I have a pair of socks on the needle right now for him.

i am having trouble turning the heel . i get to that part and have trouble every time i also have a knitting wheel and same problem ,for some reason i am not getting it. and its may to easy so i don't get.
