Hi Bridgett, I found this wonderful blog for the magic loop. Hope this is helpful.

ANYONE- Are there instructions for "magic loop' technique on the web, or is it in a book?
DeeAnna- Cat Bordhi has a video(s) (Youtube) on her toe up knitting technique.
I am currently finishing up a sleeveless vest in bamboo before I will allow myself to start another pair of socks :|
http://www.AlpacaDirect.com carries Hiya Hiya needles that are 60 inches. They would be perfect for magic looping! I've used the technique for hat tops before and it was pretty simple once you get going.
