I just wanted to check in and say hi to everyone. Its been a while since Ive been on KnitIdeas.com and was wondering what everyone is up too. Any new projects? Im also looking for new and wonderful projects for the fall and winter...any ideas?

I am so glad to find this group. I knit anything that looks interesting, but mainly socks, afghans, and gifts for family. Right now I am finishing a sweater for my 3 yr old and working on an afghan for my Aunt for Christmas.

Glad to find this group. I love to knit and crochet anything. I spend approximately 6-7 hours a day knitting or crocheting. I have knitted/crocheted socks, baby items, afghans, adult clothes. Current project are afghan squares for an afghan for church knitting/crocheting ministry and a boy's size 2 hoodie in camo for my great grandson. Recently learned to make cables and am also beginning to do some lace work as soon as my latest order to Herrschner's comes in.

I am a sock knitter, I knit for preemies, newborns, I am in a group that knits for hospitals for still born babies. At present I am working on a KAL sock, and a hat for newborns.

My favorite now is making hats and accessories -- more hats than anything -- I can do everything but knit socks -- havent made a pair yet and I have been knitting for almost 30 years

Arlyce, I guess I am one of the weird ones that also loves to knit socks! My mom has been knitting for around 40 years now, and she is too chicken to try it. Just can't convince her. So I knit the socks, and she knits the Norwegian ski sweaters. Works for me. Guess I should start socks for my kids this year. They expect them for Christmas every year, and I haven't done them for a few....

Karen, just google free knitting patterns, (or crochet) and then look up patterns for dishtowels. I've made them, and this is how I got my patterns. They are really awesome when done in cotton! Absorbant and easily machine washed. Make them in many colors to complement any decor!
