The ugliest thing I made was something I just finished. I made a shrug for my daughter. I used a color that tuned out to be extremely bland once it was completed and totally not attractive on my daughter. I also did not buy enough yarn... and the shoulder has three rows in a shade slightly off from the rest. The sleeves are too tight and too long.

Alas and Alack, it is so ugly I will not even put up a pic.. but I hope you will....LOL!

I did learn a lot through the process and my next shrug should be different, I hope...

I'm crocheting an afghan right now (in between other projects) and the yarn is so ugly! lol! But it's so soft so I'm continuing on with it. It'll be nice and warm in the winter. I bought the yarn on clearance at Big Lots BECAUSE it was so soft, but once crocheted, it's just downright u-g-l-y. I'll try to post a photo soon of what I have completed thus far. ;-)
I'll play.

The UGLIEST thing I ever made was a baby sweater for a baby that doesn't exist. My co-workers bought me a finishing class and I had never completed anything that needed finishing. I knit a baby sweater in a weekend to have a sweater to take to class. I didn't pay attention when weaving in ends and SEWED SHUT the top button h***. The back of the sweater is a different color than the front the sleeves (I didn't buy enough yarn) and my daughter picked out really bland football buttons. My son's stuffed animal wears this because I would not subject a baby to the ugliness. There is a snap that holds the neck together since I don't have a h*** for the last football. UGH!

I learned a lot and my finishing skills improved by leaps and bounds!

1st pair of socks bad yarn color and serious laddering probs
The ugliest thing I made was a pair of slippers, they ended up bigger than they should and we all laughed at them (they had a pointy toe and did'nt seem to come up high enough on the ankle)...then my daughter came over and she has a bigger foot than I so I tried to pawn them of on her but she was no taker....she just laughed at me....LOL!
I knit a dress for my four year old daughter and I used the wrong yarn. Ugh, it was gorgeous yarn but it didn't have enough body for a dress and the thing just flopped and dragged in all the wrong places. That was a lot of work, but I threw the thing out because my sweet daughter wanted to wear it whenever she saw it, bless her soul.
i had not been crocheting for very long, and decided to crochet my skinny sister a pair of hot pants (early 70's). I crocheted them, they ended up being "flat". I hadn't taken into account that bodies are round. I bet the thing wouldn't have even got around one of her thighs!!! Plus, they were yellow acrylic with brrown acrylic. UGLY!!
