What is your favorite project for "on the go". I always wish I had taken a knitting project along when I get a few moments while out and about. I don't knit socks and I like projects that are easy to knit without a pattern in front of me. I do want it to have enough challenge that I actually FINISH it someday though!
Do you use a project bag or just carry it in a purse? I want to get better at using every spare minute of time to KNIT or CROCHET (I do both!)
"Knitting in Public" is very acceptable and I have met so many fellow knitters this way. I knit everywhere! Including (I'm kind of embarrased to say) when I am at a stop light. I know that's a bit extreme, but some of those lights can be really long!!
Knitting in public is something I love to do. It is relaxing to sit outside at a little cafe with a nice glass of wine and just knit. I never knew how relaxing it was to knit. I used to be in awe of my aunt , who could knit and talk at the same time! Something about the click...click..click of the wooden needles is so relaxing after a busy day.I have passed htis on to my daughter...who tells me that she loves to crawl in bed at night and knit while watching a movie......
Hi, I just joined and look forward to sharing and really getting into knitting again. I just finished knitting winter tobogins for my kids. I use a circle loom - very similar to circle needles- . I take mine everywhere. I have a tote bag and I just keep it near the front door next to my chair in the livingroom and I grab and go. With the circle loom I don't have to count as much. . .Evelyn
I have been doing alot of just basic knit stitch with stuff mostly scarfs and towels (dish and cloths) I keep in my purse ....though my purse could be used as a project bag in and of it self :D
Granny Squares! So simple and you can crochet them up really fast. I use my purse as my project bag, it's a med/lg size and has a divider in the center. One side is used for "pocketbook" stuff and the other holds my yarn and hook. I keep a pair of embroidery scissors tucked away in the inside pocket for quick clips. It's easy to carry around 4 or 5 smaller balls of leftover yarn that i use to make my squares. Very convenient for waits in the doctor's/dentist's office, kid's ballgames/practices and I always have my hobby handy when my hubby is behind the wheel!
I love crochet for dolls! My grandmother always made those "pillow dolls" so I have a soft spot for crochet and dolls. I still have one somewhere that she made...just gorgeous!
I just was emailed by Karen Skacel that she's shipping us a good supply of Addi Click sets. They've improved the packaging to make the interchangeable addi turbos more portable and suited for travel. Good news for your travelling knitting projects!
