If you're knitting flat, just lay them out straight under a couple of heavy books for a while. I've heard you can also heat some water and soak them in there (NOT when it's boiling) to relax them.
Wow. That's good info to remember. I'll have to try that too.
books/heavy items are the best way- depending on the circs you are using the hot water can weaken the plastic. i've tried the hot water method on three pairs of circs, and two of them broke right under the needle.
UGH thanks for the tip about the hot water. This is what I've always heard that you are supposed to do. I love my circs and will NOT try it now! Thanks again!
i just caved and bought the knit picks interchangeable cables and needles. they have almost no memory so they dont kink back up their heaven compared to my last pair and they werent that spendy!
I bought some knitpicks too ( to get a smaller size)  but I still prefer my Denise needles.  I've had them so long that I even got a 'tune up' by returning them to Denise.  I love the needles and the company - would recommend to anyone!
Oooo!  I have to check out the Denise needles you speak of!  Intriguing!
How did you get them to "tune up" your needles? I have an old set that won't stay in place they are so worn out. Nothing is more aggravating then having them come apart when you have 150 stitches on when your knitting a purse. After the second time I threw them in an old hamper full of projects and rejects. I couldn't bear to throw them away.
you can get in touch through their website ( sorry, I'm not sure of the address) and ask.  they have a policy of replacing broken or worn parts for $1 if you mail them the piece.  they were so helpful to me

Hi Wanda,

Thank you so much for the information! I had no idea they would do that, I would love to be able to use the set but I just didn't want to take anymore chances with them coming apart. Lately though i've been mostly knitting socks but I am getting into making some scarves for gifts so this is very timely information.

Thanks,

Rose

I have had problems everyonce in a while with the needles slipping off of the circles. ick cause I am no so good at pick up.
I used a hair blow dryer to unwind mine and then I hang up on a hook to keep them unwound. I have also used hot water.....(not boiling) and it helped too.
hope this helps,
Jolene
