I found videos on how to front post double crochet and front post triple crochet but nothing for a front post double triple crochet.  Maybe see if this helps!

thanks so much.  It does

Christine - you have pobably figured this out by now but a triple would just be to wrap the yarn twice instead of once on your hook before making your stitch and then you would go through it an additional time to use that last loop as you make the triple crochet, as opposed to a double stitch with just one wrap around the hook.

I do a lot of post stitch scarves - they make lovely deep stripes - lots of texture BUT they do use more thread to get the same length because of the dimensionality, i.e., if your foundation chain is 63" to make a 60' scarf, after a row of post stitches, your length with reduce to 48" to 52" depending on the bulk of your yarn..... a delimma only fixable by starting over :(. or making your adult scarf a child's scarf:)

I will post some photos of some of the pieces done lately.

Happy hooking. Sheila

thanks so much,  So it means I do a double and then a triple in the same post.  That's what I assume.  It's for a baby blanket and I have the pattern but they didn't elaborate on this stitch.

no no. a double and a triple next to each othr like that would bubble - a new combo stitch for sure but not what you want it sounds..... I am not good at the verbal - sorry. when one does a double, one wraps the yarn around the hook once; when one does a triple, one wraps the yarn around twice. so if it says front post triple - it is just one stitch but a triple not a double.

I have posted three scarves that are front post doubles and at least one has good detail - look at it and that will help I think. Go to my page and click on albums - it is named front post double scarves so it is easy to find; click on the pictures and make them as big as you can so you can see the detail. But these are doubles. I just posted them so they may not be approved yet.

There is alss a book - Donna Kooler's Encyclopedia of Crochet and it has very good graphics for almost every stitch imaginable. My only problem with the book is that the "designers" are saying they "designed" what are actually antique patterns.... I don't like our grandmothers not being honored that way.... otherwise it is a great teaching book.

Christine - the photos are approved so you can see them now... hope they help!

Christine - I am so sorry - 1. for the typos - I am always in such a hurry to send messages and notice typos later... apologies. 2. a double triple would mean wrap around the needle 3 times = 1 for the double and 2 for the triple.... whew. sorry. I misread your question (in such a hurry I am) but you probably already knew that by now. !

URGH. S.

I just figured it out.  Found a stitch book and looked it up.  Thanks
Great.  We hope you will post your photo when done!
will do
i love using you tube, you can usually find several how to videos so you can choose the one that works for you.

There is a stitch called a double treple (or double triple) in american crochet. You wrap the yarn around the hook THREE times to start, go though the stitch, yarn ovver and pull through so there are 4 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through 2 at a time til you're down to one loop again. Now.. with that stitch in mind, simply do a front post stitch instead of taking the hook through a regular stitch. Easy peasy.

There is also a triple treble (or triple triple) with starts with FOUR yarn overs. Just fyi.
