its the stich that looks like a big shell that you can make into rows and add to other projects but i have no idea what its called to find it lol it looks like flower pedals. my great grandma made rows and would add them to her afghans. shes long gone or i would just ask the woman lol.

If it is the pattern my aunt used they are cute shells and I think she called it a shell stitch. I found a cute project from THIS site that uses it. PLUS I love these handwarmers :)

Is this the stitche you were looking for? My aunt used it for blankets and pillow doll dresses.

no but thats pretty the one im looking for isnt solid like that it has like a chain with the stitches than chain around and u just add to it
